Vacation-style running event

Taiwan's only vacation-style running event that has it all!

Year after year, the creative running event Chrysanthemum Island Penghu Cross-Sea Marathon has earned the reputation of being the runners' top selection. The Chrysanthemum Island Penghu Cross-Sea Marathon not only features an internationally certified IAAF/AIMS professional course, but also pioneers a non-out-and-back, island-hopping route  that  avoids loops between points A and B on the outlying islands. This widely popular event fills up quickly and integrates sports tourism with the unique local charm of Chrysanthemum Island and gathers over 3000 runners nationwide.

A Feast of Delicacies Along the Way

The course provides gout-friendly refreshment stops along the way. This is an extravagant seafood feast with over 60 local delicacies that accompany you every step of the way. Highlights include pumpkin seafood dumplings, Spanish mackerel, prickly pear cactus juice, flying fish roe sausages, brown sugar cake, and more. Many runners flock here specifically for the food, jokingly calling it the marathon that makes you most tempted to quit—it takes iron willpower to resist the culinary temptations!

Sustainable Running Journey: Who Can Compete?

As guardians of this pristine island tourism destination, the Penghu National Scenic Area Administration embodies sustainable ecological stewardship. The event prohibits disposable cups, and strongly encourage runners to bring their own reusable water bottles. Beyond experiencing Penghu's culinary delights and scenic beauty on foot, runners actively support ecological conservation, contributing their part for a greener planet. Facing fierce northeast monsoon winds, runners confront the elements head-on, pushing forward against the coastal headwind! Step by step, they immerse themselves in Penghu's beauty, infusing the Chrysanthemum Island's autumn and winter with vibrant energy and running toward a fresh new chapter in life.
