Jebeiyu and the nearby islets are well-known fisheries in northern Penghu. With coral beds everywhere, earlier settlers here saw the huge tidal range and tidal flats suitable for observing fish species and catching them during ebb tides by using the basalts and coral reefs for stone weir fishing. There are a total of 600 stone weirs in Penghu and approximately 88 of them, which accounts for one seventh of the total, are distributed in the Jebei sea area. This use of tidal flats and stone weir fishing built from basalts and coral reefs is one of the most unique cultural sights of Jebeiyu.
Xianjiao is the shooting location for the TV drama “Original Scent of Summer”. While Jebei, another shooting location for the TV drama “At Dolphin Bay” is the largest island on the North Sea of Penghu. Enjoy activities like getting sun-tanned, piling sands, splashing waters along the extensive clean white beaches at Jebei’s Shawei. Sikan Hill is heaven for exciting water activities including banana boats, dragged buoy, two-man speedboat, and water motorcycle that would surely entertain tourists.
