To continue to add to Penghu’s exciting autumn tourism offerings, the Penghu National Scenic Area Headquarters, Tourism Administration, MOTC (herein after referred to as the Penghu Administration) plans to hold the “2025 Penghu Music Festival” at the Pet Park in Penghu Guanyinting Coastal Recreation Area in Magong City from August 29 to November 2. This morning (August 1), the promotional press conference took place at the Discovery Hotel and, which was not only hosted by the Director of the Penghu Administration, Chen-Ling Kuo, but also included many media representatives and guests, including: the Director of Legislator Yang Yao’s Office, Xiang-Ling Duan, the Executive Director of Legislator You Hao’s Office, Tong-Cheng Huang, the Penghu County Council Member, Chun-Chin Lu Huang, the Deputy Director of the Tourism Department, Penghu County Government, Mei-Fan Liu, the Director of the Penghu Weather Station, Central Weather Administration, Chin-Hsiung Chang, and the Director of the Penghu Airport, Civil Aeronautical Administration, Ministry of Transportation and Communication, Yu-Shen Chiu. They all participated to promote and support the event.

The Director of the Penghu Administration, Chen-Ling Kuo, stated that: “This marks the tenth anniversary of the Penghu Autumn Festival, which has already become a representative activity of Penghu’s autumn and winter tourism. The theme of the “2025 Penghu Music Festival” is “Island Paradise.” It will integrate music, art, culture, ecology and local businesses to provide rich and diverse travel experiences for tourists. This year, not only is there a ‘Four Gift’ event to give back to tourists, local stories will also be told through a light festival that bridges the culture, ecology, customs of Penghu, realizing a travel blueprint for an entire year through “firework-gazing in the first half of the year and wind-chasing in the second half of the year”. Travelers from home and abroad are sincerely invited to Penghu to experience this most moving island surprise.”

Large-scale stage performances will last for five weeks from August 29 to September 26, with a total of six concerts to be held every Friday night and on August 30 (Saturday) With a powerhouse lineup including Korea’s sultry diva Hyo Lyn, NINE ONE ONE, ENERGY, Landy Wen, TRASH, Mixer, Fire EX., Henry Hsu, OZONE, and more, this series of performances is set to spark a wave of autumn tourism in Penghu.

Another major highlight this year is the upgraded light art exhibition, the “Light Island Festival,” running from August 29 to November 2. Inspired by the theme of “Light and Island,” the festival uses light as a medium to promote Penghu, also known as the “Island of Chrysanthemums.” With the creative slogan “Welcome Light,” the event plays on a double meaning—both inviting visitors to Penghu and celebrating the arrival of light and shadow. The Light Island Festival is curated with the concept of exploring Penghu in autumn and winter, and showcases local memories by inviting art collectives to combine local stories with exciting tourism adventures. Highlighting the unique autumn winds of Penghu, the festival incorporates creative expressions such as “Riding the Wind,” “Breaking the Wind,” “Chasing the Wind,” and “Fanning the Sea Breeze” to create a sensory feast that blends wind, light, music, and storytelling. Extending from the Penghu Guanyin Temple area through the city, the festival invites every visitor to immerse themselves in the stories and enchanting beauty of Penghu by night.
This year, the “Penghu Autumn Festival” welcomes its tenth anniversary. Not only does it include a variety of events including the “2025 Penghu Music Festival,” “Penghu 2025: Travel Through The Four Seasons,” “2025 Penghu Bay Rhapsody,” “2025 Penghu Hopping Bicycle Carnival,” and the “2025 Penghu Cross Island Marathon,” it also celebrates the launch of the “Autumn Festival Four Gift” series special offers, from August 1 to November 2, providing complete travel experiences that connect food, accommodation, travel, shopping and transportation, with more than 180 affiliated vendors of the tourism industry covering a diverse range of sectors from “gourmet dining and local specialty products to travel and lodging”.
