The 2025 Penghu Music Festival officially kicked off today (29th) with a spectacular opening at Guanyin Pavilion Park. The night featured an electrifying headline performance by Korean pop diva Hyolyn, joined by Taiwanese stars Prince Chiu, Chris Chiu, Bestards, and OZONE, bringing the crowd to its feet with high-energy music and dance. Director Kuo Chen-ling of the Penghu National Scenic Area Headquarters, Penghu Deputy Magistrate Lin Chieh-hsing, Penghu County Council Speaker Chen Yu-jen, Deputy Speaker Lan Kai-yuan, along with distinguished guests and festivalgoers, joined together to experience the passion and vibrancy of Penghu’s autumn season at night.
 
The 2025 Penghu Music Festival runs from August 29 to September 26, spanning five weekends with a total of six large-scale concerts held every Friday evening and on Saturday, August 30. The star-studded lineup includes Korean pop diva Hyolyn, along with powerhouse acts such as Nine One One (911), ENERGY, Landy Wen, TRASH, Mixer, Fire EX., Henry Hsu, and OZONE. Combining musical talent with massive popularity, the festival is set to ignite Taiwan’s hottest autumn music celebration.
 
This year’s light art exhibition has also been upgraded under the theme “Island of Light Celebration.” Running from August 29 to November 2, the exhibition features creative light installations, interactive lighting technology, and storytelling inspired by local culture, offering a unique nighttime experience steeped in Penghu’s island character. Design elements draw on motifs such as “Riding the Wind,” “Breaking the Wind,” “Chasing the Wind,” and “Sea Breeze,” tied together under the creative slogan “Welcome, Light.” The phrase plays on the familiar Chinese greeting huanying guanglin (literally “welcome to our guests”), while also evoking the imagery of light arriving. This clever wordplay expresses both a warm invitation to travelers and the descent of luminous art, allowing visitors to explore Penghu’s scenic attractions by day and stroll through a radiant island of light by night for an all-in-one experience of Penghu’s unique charm.
 
This year, the “Penghu Autumn Festival” welcomes its tenth anniversary. Not only does it include a variety of events including the “2025 Penghu Music Festival,” “Penghu 2025: Travel Through The Four Seasons,” “2025 Penghu Bay Rhapsody,” “2025 Penghu Hopping Bicycle Carnival,” and the “2025 Penghu Cross Island Marathon,” it also celebrates the launch of the “Autumn Festival Four Gift” series special offers, from August 1 to November 2, providing complete travel experiences that connect food, accommodation, travel, shopping and transportation, with more than 180 affiliated vendors of the tourism industry covering a diverse range of sectors from “gourmet dining and local specialty products to travel and lodging”.
