The results of the 2020 MUSE Creative Awards in the US were announced recently. More than 130 internationally renowned judges examined 15,000+ works that were sent from over 50 countries. Penghu - Islands of Your Dreams, a short film produced by the Penghu National Scenic Administration, stood out and won the Platinum Award in the Video / Tourism category for the 2020 MUSE Design Award.
 
The MUSE Design Awards is an event organized by the historic International Awards Associate (IAA), and is one of the most influential international awards programs in the field of creative design worldwide. The MUSE Design Awards showcases excellent design in 9 main categories, including the fields of architecture, interior design, fashion, advertising, and others. The rigorous grading standards have attracted many internationally renowned brands and designers to the competition to prove that they are capable of winning the prestigious awards, which will also give them international exposure and promotion.
 
Director Tsung-Min Hsu of the Penghu National Scenic Area Administration said that film is the best tool for cross-domain marketing. The submitted entry for the competition adopts an international marketing and traveler's perspective to display the island’s scenery, natural landscape, culture and local hospitality, and indirectly communicate with foreign travelers around the world, hoping to draw more of them to visit Penghu.
 
“Penghu - Islands of Your Dream” is a sightseeing music video created by Be Lucky Taipei advertising team for Penghu County. Karel Picha, a Czech director, found the most unique natural landscapes and cultural attractions, and took viewers on a journey of a young girl’s imagination riding along poetic songs in the secret realm of Penghu. Well-known attractions such as Whale Cave, Chixi Columnar Basalt, Parting the Sea, Erkan Traditional Residence, Coral Stone, Mazu Temple, Donyupingyu, Jibei Island, and Neian Beach appear in the film, and the famous Fireworks Festival is also a highlight in the film.
 
The production team invited Krzysztof Zimmermann, a music composer from Poland, to produce a melody which has the soundscape of Penghu to touch people's hearts. The poetic melody expresses the grandness of nature. What is worth mentioning is the selection of a 13-year-old actress, Ya-Chun Yeh, to be in the film. She grew up on the island of Jiangjun Island and had obtained a diving certification at the mere age of 10, and that was how she had a beautiful performance in the ocean. The costume she wears in the film is provided by a Taiwan designer brand “And by tan&luciana”. The Earth tone design and the natural landscape create a pure and dazzling visual effect. The music film certainly incorporates many elements of art.
