In response to the 2020 Taiwan Cycling Festival promoted by the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, the Penghu National Scenic Area Administration also organizes the 2020 Penghu 101 Hopping Bike to facilitate the growth of tourism in Penghu. The event incorporates the local geology landscape, seascape, and beautiful bicycle lanes and calls for all riders from Taiwan to go on an easy ride at 20 kilometers per hour to view the world's most beautiful bay.
The event will start on September 20 (Sunday). There are two routes available, including a 101-kilometer challenge group and a 20-kilometer leisure ride group. Along the way, riders will ride by Shihli Beach, Parting the Sea in Beiliao, Penghu Aquarium, Penghu Great Bridge, Yuwongdao Lighthouse and other attractions. The routes demonstrate the rich and extraordinary cultural and natural scenery, so riders can appreciate the most prestigious local views and culture while taking on the challenge. In order to encourage riders to form groups in their visits experiencing the beauty of Penghu, the event only charges a registration fee of NT$800 for the challenge group and NT$600 for the leisure ride group. The event gives out event t-shirts, water bottles for bikes, certificate of completion, medals, and fashion socks (limited to the challenge group), and there will be lottery draw games on site. Besides, the local residents of Penghu County are given discounts on the registration, and there are tour packages available.

The Penghu National Scenic Area Administration also has extended the registration deadline for bicycle lead riding events to September 30 (limited to 500 people). Riders in groups of more than 5 people can make online registration and reservation 7 days before their trips. The fan page of the Penghu National Scenic Area Administration also gives out accommodation vouchers, limited-edition cycling jerseys and OhBear merchandise in prize drawings from time to time.
