The 2016 Penghu International Fireworks Festival began on April 18. With the increasing number of independent travelers arriving at the festival, the Penghu National Scenic Area Administration (Penghu NSA) has arranged “Walking Travel Consultation Services” in the busy area of the Zhongzheng Road Business District. Friendly volunteers will be on the streets to provide information on transportation and travel.

The 2016 Penghu International Fireworks Festival will offer attendees a “Walking Travel Consultation Service”. Between 6:30 pm and 9:00pm on each Monday and Thursday between April 18 and June 23, several pairs of volunteers wearing jackets emblazoned with a yellow “i” will carry flags and backpacks filled with travel brochures, basic medical packs, and other travel essentials. These walking volunteers will be stationed along the main roads of the Zhongzhong Business District and will provide directions to attendees of the Fireworks Festival, as well as performances, and travel consultation, thereby helping travelers to make the most of their visit to Penghu.

Penghu NSA stated that tourist centers and travel information stations have been established in key transportation hubs and tourist sites throughout Penghu National Scenic Area. Nowadays, more and more people are choosing to travel independently, which also increases the need for convenient travel consultation services. Since last year (2015), travel services have set up travel information booths within various characteristic stores. This year at the Fireworks Festival, instant travel consultations will be provided in the form of I-center walking services. This service provides instant travel information and orientation, allowing travelers to receive information on the go and helping them to overcome problems they may encounter during the trip. This service also enhances the friendly image of Penghu with the active assistance provided by thoughtful volunteer workers.
