To market Penghu as a touristic town with plentiful resources and amazing spots, the Penghu National Park Scenic Area’s Administration Office under the Ministry of Transportation and Communications launched the “Work for Accommodation & Paint Penghu Online” working holiday activity recently.
Participants will be able to work in a friendly, unique environment, feel inspired, and explore the diversified local culture in Penghu. This is truly one event that will leave many wonderful memories to its participants.
According to Chang Lung-Cheng, head of the administration office, in the age of the Internet, the many Facebook pages and user blogs have become powerful and creative means for people to exchange thoughts and keep themselves updated.
Therefore, the activity participants will have to publish articles and photos of Penghu on their own e-pages in addition to helping out selected tourism/cultural venues during their stay. They will, however, be provided with accommodation and transport (but without monetary rewards or food).
Through this activity, the Administration Office aims to make Penghu a choice destination for students, backpackers, or part-time workers seeking inspirations and peace of mind. It is also expected that the holidaymakers will spread the words of ocean conservation, sustainable development, and the ecological beauty of Penghu to many more people via the Internet. It is also with the activity that the rich oceanic culture and amazing scenery of Penghu can be better presented to the general public.
