Penghu National Scenic Area Administration (hereafter referred to as Penghu NSA) will hold the “Taiwan Fun on the Tropic of Cancer Penghu Yuwengdao Lantern Lighting Concert” from 18:30 to 20:30 on June 21 (Saturday) at Siyu Yuwengdao Lighthouse. The event was inspired by the Tourism Bureau’s “Taiwan Fun on the Tropic of Cancer” Summer Festival, a tourism marketing event held by the bureau that brings together all areas on the Tropic of Cancer in Taiwan. The event created a brand image of “coolness, tranquility and energy conservation” for the summer. As the Tropic of Cancer passes through the waters south of Hujing Island near Penghu, Penghu NSA created the “I’m in Penghu, High Ladder of Happiness” and “Happiness in Hujing” landmarks in Xishan, Hujing Island, last year, hoping to consolidate various scenic attractions on Penghu and foster tourism in the South China Sea – Hujing and Tongpan islands.

On June 21, Penghu NSA is hosting an event that invites participants to watch the breathtaking sunset over Siyu at the oldest lighthouse in Taiwan - Yuwengdao Lighthouse. In addition to the lantern lighting ceremony, legendary Penghu musician Ma Yang-Wei’s live piano performance and Juepin Jazz Band saxophone performance by Chen Xi-Ren and Liu Jian-Hong will make it a night to remember, allowing everyone to appreciate the uniqueness of cool, tranquil, romantic, energy-saving green travel. It is hoped that these tourism activities will attract more domestic and international tourists to Penghu.
