The fragile geology of Tongpan Islet Mountain’s column-shaped basalt area are easily affected by the windy and rainy weather, and after on-site survey by departments of Agriculture & Fisheries of Penghu County Government on July 6th, 2016, it was determined that the geology within the area is sensitive and features many fragile surfaces, hence it is not suitable to guide travelers to walk on it; in order to avoid fallen basalt rocks, travelers are forbidden to go there so as to maintain safety.
