This is a tourism marketing event integrating the peripheral regions of the Tropic of Cancer in Taiwan during the midsummer period, to create the summer elements of “refreshing, peaceful, energy-saving” as well as the brand image. The “Taiwan Fun on the Tropic Cancer ~ Grassland Concert at Yuwongdao Lighthouse” was jointly organized by us, the Maritime and Port Bureau, MOTC as well as the Chunghwa Post on the night of June 21st from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at the most ancient lighthouse in Taiwan. A total of more than 300 travelers and folks were attracted to listen and enjoy a romantically happy evening.
With the clear sky and bright sun yesterday, the Sunset at Siyu, one of the eight famous sceneries of Penghu has appeared to be even more breathtaking, such that travelers gasped in admiration when enjoying the resplendence of the dusk from Yuwongdao Lighthouse. The event was presented in a romantic and low-carbon approach of grassland concert, together with the lighthouse tourism marketing promoted by the Ministry of Transportation and Communications. Yue-Li Xu, the head of Siyu Township wore the gloves of “Oh! Bear”, the recently popular mascot of the Tourism Bureau to offer hi-fives at the sunset time of 6:51pm, and the rays of the lighthouse guarding fishing vessels out in the ocean instantly lit up under everyone’s anticipation and cheers, thereby taking the event to the climax.
This event invited Little Crow (Hong-Ming Chen), the Penghu folk song singer who has just completed 40 folk song concerts at the Taipei Arena to act as the lead singer. He performed many popular and touching folk songs during the 1 and a half hour of time, including: Voice of Siyu, The Forgotten Times, Morning in the Wind, Grandma’s Penghu Bay, Olive Tree and Penghu is Our Hometown; all travelers were indulged in this romantic atmosphere. Moreover, a light show based on the theme of “Taiwan Fun on the Tropic Cancer” was specially organized during the concert, with the content mainly inspired by “Geological Space – Tropic of Cancer” and “Seasonal Time - Midsummer”, connecting and integrating the magnificent regional sceneries that the Tropic of Cancer passes through, creating the best light show effects together with the moving music and notes, hoping to demonstrate the night sceneries of Yuwongdao Lighthouse via a different performance approach.
We have indicated that through the series of events on “2015 Taiwan Fun on the Tropic of Cancer” organized by the Tourism Bureau, we expect to establish the event brand for launch to the international market, creating the “Beautiful Island of the Tropic of Cancer - Taiwan”, allowing the peripheral cities of the Tropic of Cancer to synchronize and stimulate the travelers’ will to travel, actively appeal to foreigners to visit Penghu and experience the marvelous  sub-tropical and tropical midsummer sentiments of the sea island along the Tropic of Cancer.
