The Jibei Island is 3.1 km2 in area, with a coastline of 13 km; it is the largest island on the North Sea and one of the most popular tourist spots in Taiwan. The "Sand Beach Beak" at the south end features a 1500-meter white sand beach. It is known as the ‘Sand Spit’ formed by corals and shells moved here by the sea. When looked down from the air, it offers a spectacular sight, a truly world-class natural landscape.
Jibei Island is heaven for water activities, housing various recreational activities, including banana boats, dragged buoys, two-person speedboats, water motorcycles, under-the-sea sightseeing boats, paragliding and snorkeling. Those who enjoy water activities will certainly have a wonderful time here at Jibei. Another tourist feature of Jibei is the number of "stone weirs" housed here; there are over 80 stone weirs, more than any other place in Penghu, thus winning the nickname "Home of the Stone Weirs."
