The new sightseeing highlight – “Penghu Visitor Center” unveils its upgraded Version 2.0
Aiming to improve Penghu’s entire tourism image and create new landmarks and highlights, the National Scenic Area and Tourism Bureau of Penghu has just replanned, designed, and remodeled the “Penghu Visitor Center”. The upgraded Version 2.0 reopened on March 30th, with almost 100 visitors and locals attending the simple but grand ceremony. When tourism in Penghu starts blooming, the visitor center will provide visitors with even more diverse and attentive travel information. The “Penghu Visitor Center” will be the first point of contact for travelers.
Xu Zong-min, director of the Penghu administrative office: The “Penghu Visitor Center” was established more than 22 years ago. Since then, it has played an important role in the Penghu sightseeing tour and consulting service system. But as people are increasingly paying attention to recreation and service quality, the presentation of the interior and service functions can no longer satisfy modern needs. Thus, to cater to the interests of tourists, the “Penghu Visitor Center” has been upgraded to Version 2.0 into a micro museum and artistic park that welcomes travelers. A relaxing, modern ambiance was added, and the service values of tourism have been enhanced in all areas of Penghu, creating a wave and vision of emotional traveling. From today, the “Penghu Visitor Center” will once again become the most important starting point for travelers arriving in Penghu by letting them appreciate and get familiar with Penghu’s truest, friendliest, and most beautiful island atmosphere as well as the most detailed travel information.
The “Penghu Visitor Center” Version 2.0 combines museum exhibitions and the new mindset of humanistic design into local art, cultural life as well as the new field of recreation and introduces tourism highlights. The whole planning of the venue includes: a service area, a rest area, an area introducing traditional food, a four-season themed activity area, a highlight area, a souvenir area, an island culture experience area as well as striking cultural life and village scene models. Novel and refined multimedia audio-visual rooms will add to Penghu’s relaxing holiday atmosphere. In the future, the “Penghu Visitor Center” Version 2.0 will not only provide tourists with comfortable, rich, and even more immersive visual and auditive delights, its multifunctional service mindset and plentiful information on tourism activities will also satisfy all visitor’s needs, thus creating a new outlook for tourist service and a new landmark for Penghu.
By adding a recreational connotation to the “Penghu Visitor Center” and presenting the beauty of diverse customs and art, we allow the public an even closer and deeper experience of the spiritual journey to the new ocean field and spiritual space of culture and art. The Penghu administrative office specially planned the “Penghu Visitor Center” as an exhibition space for normal artistic creations, first matching the opening ceremony with the topic “Fantastic Ocean – Penghu Pengfu (Meeting the Tiger, Surging Fortune)” and inviting the internationally famous artist Mr. Hong Yi as well as local artists to set up the exhibition. In this beautiful environment, through the artist’s unique creativity and symbols of joy, an artistic exhibition platform of maritime culture and the life of the people has been constructed. We hope that through this abundance of imagination and the joyful life aesthetics, people will get to know the treasures of Penghu’s marine ecological environment and cultural art. The “Fantastic Ocean – Penghu Pengfu” exhibition lasts for three months until June 30th. We welcome you to come and experience the profound memories of this land.
From today, the “Penghu Visitor Center” will be open every day from 08:00 until 17:30. To cooperate with epidemic prevention measures, we implemented the registration system and will measure body temperatures. Masks must be worn at all times. Please maintain social distance during your visit and refrain from drinking and eating inside the facility.
