With different scenery in the four seasons, Penghu, with the charm of the world’s most gorgeous bay, is worth your exploration. To extend the popularity of the recovering domestic travel in the post-pandemic era and showcase Penghu’s tourism features in fall and winter, the Penghu National Scenic Area Administration (PHNSAA) has thus planned a range of activities for visitors to explore the fun of the grid mesh and Taiwanese beach seine from November 12. There is also a photo check-in activity with opportunities to get great gifts through drawing after checking into all designated sights. When shopping with the “Quintuple Stimulus Voucher” or “Domestic Travel Voucher”, visitors can get tickets to draw gifts of over NT$200K in total under the “Penghu GO Domestic Travel Stimulus”. Enjoy a lavish treat from Penghu this fall and winter!
According to PHNSAA Director Chung-Min Hsu, image branding through the “Penghu Autumn Festival” has made autumn travel to Penghu more popular in recent years. Despite the menacing pandemic, PHNSAA has actively planned a series of cultural activities through advance deployment to introduce theme tours, one-day tours, and various challenging events for visitors to immerse with Penghu’s marine culture and discover the island’s stories and details.
While Penghu has been part of the ocean with well-established fisheries since ancient times, all local skills and culture are related to fisheries. Being the traditional fishing techniques showing ancestral wisdom, the grid mesh and Taiwanese beach seine have become exploratory activities for tourism, leisure, and environmental education to express our salute to the ocean and wish for co-existence with marine resources. PHNSAA has planned a range of grid mesh and Taiwanese beach seine activities for the Penghu Autumn Festival this year. Visitors are welcome to join them at Lintou Beach on November 12, November 19, November 26, December 3, and December 10 to explore Taiwanese beach seine fishing through concerted efforts. Grid mesh activities will be held on December 4, December 5, and December 12 at either Qingxi or Qingluo based on the tidal changes on the event dates. These free-admission activities will be available only when vacancies last. Come to Penghu to discover marine conservation and inspire the intent for environmental sustainability from understanding the fishing village life under the explanation and guidance of guides. After taking photos with the transparent cards, uploading the photos to the Penghu Travel Fun-PHNSAA Facebook Fan Club, and leaving a comment (or on Instagram) with the designated hashtag, visitors can get the chance to win the Penghu Treasure Box, the winner of the 2020 Taiwan OTOP Design Award.
