What’s new in Penghu this autumn? To enrich our autumn and winter tours to Penghu and sustain popularity in 2020, Penghu National Scenic Area Administration, Tourism Bureau, MOTC has organized the experiential events “2021 Penghu Lintou Taiwanese Beach Seine” for six sessions on September 24, 2021, as COVID-19 restrictions are partially eased. Tourists can enjoy diverse leisure activities as well as come to understand and respect the exclusive oceanic culture, appreciating, cherishing, and caring for the pulse of nature.
A unique natural landscape and culture makes Penghu a top choice for travelers in Taiwan. As pandemic restrictions ease, domestic tourism can fully reopen bit by bit. This event features the lifestyle and creations of fishing villages under the cooperation with Huxi Township Lintou Community Development Association, creating and promoting jaunts emulating the activities in the fishing industry in the early times and interacting with the public through experiential events. It is hoped that tourists will learn about the geographical environment, fishing methods, the size and use of fishing nets, and the lifestyle of fishing villages through the introduction and guidance and firsthand experience of experts, inspiring them to protect the ocean and care for the environment.
The primary purpose of the 2021 Penghu Lintou Taiwanese Beach Seine is to promote environmental education, with tourism and leisure activities acting as a wonderful by-product. It is hoped that through these activities, public awareness in the value of a sustainable coexistence and sharing between marine ecosystems and resources through life learning, cultural experiences, and giving respect to the ocean can be reached. Six sessions will be organized, and a booking is required. The event is available for appointment until a maximum capacity of 60 participants in each session is reached. Registration is required before each session. In compliance with relevant government epidemic prevention measures, participants are required to wear a mask at all times and practice social distancing during the experiential event.
The date and registration period of the 6 sessions are as follows:
- 9/24 (Fri.) and 10/1 (Fri.): The online registration period is 9/10 (Fri.) to 9/20 (Mon.)
- 10/8 (Fri.) and 10/15 (Fri.): The online registration period is 9/24 (Fri.) to 10/4 (Mon.)
- 10/22 (Fri.) and 10/29 (Fri.): The online registration period is 10/8 (Fri.) to 10/18 (Mon.)
Each session of the event will kick off at 5 p.m. (For the safety of the public and tourists during the operation of the Taiwanese beach seine, further notice will be given if there is a change in the limit on the number of people or the weather or sea state is unsuitable for the event.)
