In the hot midsummer, floating in the green ocean under blue skies, experiencing windsurfing and canoeing activities in the cool water are the most favored water sports for young tourists. Penghu National Scenic Area Administration, to promote Penghu’s extraordinary ocean resources, has cooperated with National Penghu University (NPU) of Science and Technology in organizing “Summer Experience of Windsurfing and Canoeing of 2013”. We welcome registration from youngsters and people who are coming to Penghu and are interested in this event.
The activity area of this event is held at Guanyinting Windsurfing Training Center with its complete set of equipment and services and sea area. The event begins today until August 31th, two sessions in the morning (9AM to noon) and in the afternoon (3PM to 6PM) every Wednesday thru Sunday. The coaching staff is formed by students who are qualified lifeguards from the Aquatic Sports Department of NPU, to instruct each participant in professional windsurfing and canoeing knowledge and skills. The session includes an introduction to equipment, accessories, safety & self-help, observation on wind direction / tide, and surfing ship’s correspondences; also the basic techniques of surfing ship’s functions, controls, rules of avoiding collision can be instructed in parallel. It is certain to be extremely entertaining and challenging.
