Penghu National Scenic Area Administration (Penghu NSA) of the Tourism Bureau, Ministry of Transportation and Communications has partnered with the Penghu County Cycling Association to launch a free guided cycling tour service starting March 1. Cyclists throughout Taiwan are invited to get a group together and have fun pedaling their way around Penghu.

The “Guided Cycling Tour” is a great service that offers cyclists from around Taiwan the opportunity to pedal through Penghu County’s local lanes, beach trails and cycling paths with commentary from a cycling guide. A relaxing pace of 15 to 20km allows riders to discover the local culture, hidden gems, or overlooked tourist sights. They will discover and come to fall in love with Penghu through the ride. 

Penghu NSA stated that cycling on Penghu in spring is a great way to get fit in picturesque surroundings, boost your immune system and protect against the pandemic. Cyclists throughout Taiwan are therefore invited to come ride, explore, take selfies and check in on Penghu together. The Guided Cycling Tour program of  Penghu NSA will run for 4 months from March 1 through to June 30. Cyclists and groups of five or more can simply book seven days in advance to have trained volunteers provide guided rides and tours.

As part of the 2022 “Go Bike TAIWAN” certification campaign for the “Penghu Islands Route”, cyclists that upload a selfie at Fongguei Cave and their tracking record for the “Penghu Islands Route” before April 30 will receive a Go Bike TAIWAN badge from the Tourism and one of 100 bonus lucky bags offered by Penghu NSA. Cyclists that complete the certification will receive either a sports arm/waist pack, multi-function sports bandanna, SpearX hi-fi Bluetooth headphones, 720 sunglasses and other great sports gear given at random.
