Many unique events will be gradually launched for the first time in the “2025 Penghu Bay Rhapsody” in August

To maintain the brand as one of the world’s most beautiful bays and enhance the international visibility of Penghu tourism, the Penghu National Scenic Area Headquarters, Tourism Administration, MOTC (herein after referred to as the Penghu Administration), meticulously planned the “2025 Penghu Bay Rhapsody” event and held a promotional press conference today (the 10th) at the popular seaside café, “Smile Café”, located at Aimen Beach, Penghu. Not only was it hosted and enthusiastically promoted by the Director of the Penghu Administration, Chen-Ling Kuo, it also attracted many guests and media representatives including the Mayor of the Huxi Township, Penghu County, Jhen-Jhong Chen, the Deputy Director of the Marine National Park Headquarters, National Park Service, Ministry of the Interior, Shang-Ching Lin, the Deputy Director of the Tourism Department, Penghu County Government, Mei-Fan Liu, the Director of the Penghu Airport, Civil Aeronautical Administration, Ministry of Transportation and Communication, Yu-Shen Chiu, and the Chairman of the Aimen Community Development Association in Huxi Township, Penghu, Wen-Yi Hong, etc., to kickoff the most unique and innovative theme of the year - “Jamming in Aimen”.

The Penghu Administration stated that the “2025 Penghu Bay Rhapsody” marks the first time the natural and stunning bays of Penghu are used as the background to provide innovative and unique music performances and beach leisure activities, to create distinctive travel experiences and attract a broader range of visitors, in order to extend the average stay durations and encourage return visits. For example, folk songs, which share a deep connection with Penghu, will have the first commemorative performance take place in Penghu as the event celebrates its 50th anniversary; this is also the first time it will be performed outdoors. In addition, independent bands, techno DJs, Japanese animations and finale performance by talented singer-songwriter will all be coming to Penghu for the first time to help promote the island. This August, there will be music performances and fun-filled beach activities with different themes each week set against the blue skies, turquoise seas, golden beaches and blooming fields of Gaillardia pulchella (Blanket Flowers) of Penghu. All events are carefully curated, promising an exciting and unforgettable experience not to be missed.

Four legendary folk song singers were specially invited to the press conference and to perform this year, which are Jian-Fu Li, Pei-Tsen Tu, Joseph Yeh and Hung-Ming Chen. The four masters not only sang the song “Grandma’s Penghu Bay” together for us at the press conference, they’ve also interacted with the guests the media representatives on-site kindly and passionately, and allowed everybody to experience the fresh and nostalgic melody of folk songs in advance. This made people look forward to the “Folk Song 50 in Penghu – Beautiful Bay Edition” event to be held on August 8 - August 9 even more. There will be even more well-known folk singers taking the stage and performing more than 60 songs during the event, treating the audience to a rich musical feast under the gentle summer breeze.
In addition, the full lineup and highlights of the five scheduled performances were also revealed during the press conference. The event features a rich and diverse mix of artists that span across generations and musical styles, and is sure to satisfy music lovers of all tastes! The highlights of the performances are as follows:
  • “Folk Song 50 in Penghu – Beautiful Bay Edition” August 8th (Friday) and 9th (Saturday) 18:00-21:00 at Aimen Beach: More than 18 folk singers are invited to give heartwarming performances including Jian-Fu Li, Ara Kimbo, Joseph Yeh, Zhao Mei Tai, Michelle Pan, Wawa King, Chi-Chen Lo, Johnny Yin, Christine Hsu, Meng-Lin Wang, Allen Chao, Pei-Tsen Tu, Li-Ting Lang, Eva Hu, Coco Fang, Yu-Wei Hsieh, The South Singers and Hung-Ming Chen!
  • “Style and Fun Edition” August 15, 18:30-21:00: Popular singers and bands from various major music festivals are invited to give passionate performances to chill together in the summer night breeze, including NeciKen, No-nonsense Collective, ADEN Wang and PAPUN Band!
  • “Anime Music Edition” August 16, 18:00-22:00: Performers invited include DJ Ani-Mode, Jun Jun Hsu, AKB48 Team TP, Luna◇Crescente, and the event will also feature a special live performance by Japan’s hugely popular band, FLOW. There are also performances by the Vtubers Rei and Kirali afterwards to fire up your anime spirit!
  • “Unexpected Edition” August 23, 18:30-21:00: The finale will be performed by superstars including the band Fine Land, Chih-Hsiu, Christine Ko, DJ SODA and Namewee Wee Meng Chee to rock Penghu together in the final event!

In addition to the exciting live performances, each of the five events also offer unique travel experiences that combine gourmet dining, celebrity meet-and-greets, and local cultural activities. Eight exquisite island cuisines will be available for two days from August 8th to August 9th, in which two of them are personally developed and directed by Chef Wu himself. He will also interact with fans on-site so that the supports can not only “chase stars”, but also “chase tastes”. On August 15, 16 and 23, a series of culinary experiences will be continuously launched, featuring feasts with different themes for your taste buds including outdoor BBQ and French-style afternoon tea, each full of tasty surprises!

Not only does the events have strong casts, the surrounding experiences are also full of surprises, which include: Snap, share and win exciting prizes in themed dress code, treasure hunt missions on the beach, water recreation activities, Cosplay contents, relaxing beach yoga, real-life foosball and other fun activities. In addition to the rich and exciting beach activities, the event will also feature over 20 local-themed market stalls to form a rhapsody market, such as featured drinks and ice desserts made with cactus and Penghu-style cuttlefish balls, allowing you to listen to music and have a picnic on the golden beaches of Penghu and transform the Aimen beach into a vibrant summer party full of rhythm, creativity and passion.
