To continue to add to Penghu’s exciting autumn tourism offerings, the Penghu National Scenic Area Headquarters, Tourism Administration, MOTC (hereinafter referred to as the Penghu Administration) plans to hold the 2026 Penghu Music Festival at the Penghu Guanyinting Coastal Recreation Area in Magong City from September 12 to October 11. Today (August 14th), the promotional press conference took place at the Discovery Hotel. The event was hosted by the Director of the Penghu Administration, Kuo Chen-ling, and attended by many media representatives and distinguished guests, including: Yen Tzu-chieh, Deputy Executive Director of the Southern Taiwan Joint Services Center, Executive Yuan; Lin Jie-shin, Penghu County Deputy Magistrate; Lu Huang Chun-chin, Penghu County Councilor; and Tuan Hsiang-ling, representative of Legislator Yang Yao’s office. They all participated to promote and support the event.
Penghu Administration Director Kuo Chen-ling said that the Penghu Music Festival has become a signature brand driving fall tourism in Penghu, and he wished to express his gratitude to Legislative Yuan member Yang Yao first for his long-standing support and assistance. “Island Legends” is the theme of this year’s festival, which has been comprehensively upgraded to feature four major highlights: music concerts, light art, travel experiences, and special offers. The event aims to draw crowds through music, sustain the momentum through light displays, and stimulate consumption through special offers, seamlessly connecting immersive daytime and nighttime travel experiences across Penghu. Penghu County Deputy Magistrate Lin Jie-shin said that the Penghu County Government and the Penghu Administration work together seamlessly to promote tourism in Penghu. Before the Penghu International Fireworks Festival closes on August 25, the Penghu Administration has thoughtfully presented the Pescadores Fest beach music festival from August 21 to 23, closely followed by the 2026 Penghu Music Festival and a series of sports and recreational events. Everyone from across Taiwan is welcome to personally experience a fall journey in Penghu that will be worth their while and move their hearts. Yen Tzu-chieh, Deputy Executive Director of the Southern Taiwan Joint Services Center, Executive Yuan, noted that this year’s lineup for the Penghu Music Festival is exceptional. Penghu in the fall and winter offers not only a wealth of sports events, but also feasts of romantic and rock music as well as spectacular light shows. Fans from across Taiwan are invited to “ride with ease, run to their heart’s content, eat until they’re full, bask in dazzling light displays, rock out, and enjoy romantic music!” Visitors to Penghu in the fall and winter will get to feel the sea breeze, listen to music, see the lights, and savor fresh seafood while enjoying the island’s seasonal feast.
The highly anticipated star-studded concerts will take place from September 12 to October 3. In addition to performances on four consecutive Saturdays at Guanyinting in Penghu, an additional show will be held on September 13 (Sunday), for a total of five spectacular concerts featuring 16 popular and highly talented acts taking the stage in succession. This year’s lineup is packed with stars, bringing together Korean artist Kyuhyun, Crowd Lu, Nick Chou, Nine One One, Bestards, TRASH, Cosmos People, OSN, Amber An, and other singers for a series of high-energy performances. Each week will showcase different musical talents, and travelers from Taiwan and abroad are warmly invited to visit Penghu and experience firsthand the romantic fall atmosphere created by the symphony of sea breezes, music, and light.
In addition to the musical performances, this year’s light art exhibition will run from September 12 to October 11. Inspired by traditional legends and stories passed down in Penghu, the exhibition will incorporate interactive lighting technology and artistic lighting installations to create a romantic and enchanting nighttime environment on the island. The exhibition will combine local Penghu stories, island imagery, and nighttime strolling experiences, transforming Guanyinting from merely a concert venue into one of the most talked-about nighttime attractions of the fall. Visitors are invited to rediscover the captivating charm of Penghu at night amid the interplay of sea breezes, music, and light. To thank fans for their support, the organizers are also introducing a limited-edition gift that is exclusive to Penghu for each performance this year. During the festival’s stage performances, visitors who complete designated tasks at the Guanyinting service counter will have a chance to receive a limited-edition commemorative gift. In addition, each performance will feature a festival-exclusive photo booth, allowing fans to take home cherished memories and enhancing the combined experience of following their favorite artists and traveling.
To further boost the benefits of the event, the Penghu Administration is also launching the “2026 Penghu Music Festival—Autumn Madness Season,” integrating fall tourism resources with special offers from local businesses. More than 200 participating businesses will take part, covering a diverse range of sectors including food and dining, specialty products, tourism, and accommodations, creating a comprehensive travel experience encompassing food, accommodations, tourism, shopping, and transportation. Visitors who add the Penghu Administration’s official LINE@ account can stay up to date with event information and enjoy limited-time offers when spending at designated businesses across the island. During the event, there will also be a variety of promotions, including spending rebates, point-collection raffles for purchases that meet specified amounts, on-site interactive prize drawings, and stamp-collection activities at tourist attractions. These initiatives encourage visitors to explore Penghu more deeply and extend their stays, while also increasing foot traffic and consumer spending in local commercial districts, allowing the benefits of tourism to extend from the event venues to the entire island.
