The "2022 Penghu Music Festival" kicked off at the Guanyinting Recreation Area on 13th August amidst a lively, buzzing atmosphere. A plethora of promotions was also unveiled to generate exciting opportunities and a boom in domestic tourism.

Organized by the Penghu National Scenic Area Administration, the "2022 Penghu Music Festival" brought Penghu's tourism, delicacies, accommodation, travel, retail, local transport industries, as well international marketing of Penghu’s local produce together under one event. Penghu’s tourism market is, at present, showing signs of recovery, with hotel booking rates exceeding 70%. Accommodation is especially sought after during the Music Festival’s 8 concerts, with internal demand for domestic tourism being the most stable market for such events.

Unlike previous light festivals in Penghu, this year's "Penghu Music Festival" utilizes artworks such as projection mapping and art light installations which are complemented by cutting-edge technology to create an interactive, high-tech light art presentation which illuminates Penghu's coastline. Moreover, the much-awaited concert features an exciting lineup of artists including ELLA and Nine One One performing at the opening concert, with Hebe Tien and Accusefive headlining the closing concert. 16 groups of artists, including 831, Eve Ai, and Shi Shi will take to the stage during the thematic concerts to liven up the Penghu weekends and leave visitors with unforgettable memories. As you explore Penghu deeper, you may discover surprises everywhere. In conjunction with the Mid-Autumn Festival long weekend which starts from 9th September , the Guanyinting Recreation Area in Penghu will hold a "Illuminated Kite" performance where visitors can catch a glimpse of these mammoth illuminated kites!

Promotional efforts for the "2022 Penghu Music Festival" are inspired by the "Penghu Seasons Tour" travel initiative. Thank to Penghu's unique ecological resources, all-year round travel packages whose itineraries are tailored for different seasons are possible. Activities include the Gull Watching Season, Tidal Stone Season, Majestic Rock Season, and Relic Season. From 13th August onwards, the "Tourist Discount Passport" – featuring a diverse collection of promotional offers and discounts – will be launched in time for both the "7th Penghu Autumn Festival" and the “Penghu Music Festival”. Aside from a wide range of activities, autumn/winter experience itineraries, as well as transportation and tourism resources, the discount passport also brings together premium merchants to offer fabulous promotions and fantastic prizes such as enrolling one’s receipts (for purchases over NT$1,000) to enter a lottery draw for NT$10,000 worth of accommodation vouchers and renowned souvenirs from Penghu (500 prizes). Approximately 2,000 physical copies of the discount passport will be issued and can be obtained from venues including tourist service centers, transport hubs, and travel agencies. To promote energy conservation and carbon reduction, the discount passport will also be available on the official Line@ account for ease of use by travelers, hence attracting travelers to experience the various featured activities and itineraries in Penghu.

From 15th July onwards, local free-and-easy travelers, group tours, and theme park visitors will be entitled to accommodation subsidies of up to NT$1,300 per night, with the subsidy period ending on 15th December. You are most warmly invited to embark on the chill-est, most value-for-money vacation within all of Penghu.
