To rejuvenate, refine and bring more public attention to Penghu- dubbed the “World’s Most Beautiful Bay”, the Penghu National Scenic Area Administration, Tourism Bureau, MOTC, continued to ride on Penghu’s popularity garnered last year and kick off a campaign of exciting, ecological activities in 2013. The campaign “2013 Fun New Penghu!” will roll out on 23rd May and include more “green”, environmental-friendly tours on comfortable, electric scooters. Visitors can expect to enjoy Penghu’s unparalleled beauty, experience thoughts and emotions never felt before and be prepared to be awed!
The “2013 Fun New Penghu!” campaign has 3 main themes- Penghu Stone Fish Weir Culture, Penghu Tern Ecology and Penghu Intertidal Zone Experience. The Administration will plan 10 activities for each theme and the activities are mostly 1-day tours. For visitors interested to find out more about Penghu Stone Fish Weir Culture, they will be brought to Ji Bei Island where they will discover the secret that Ji Bei Island has the most stone weirs in the world. Visitors will also be brought to Penghu’s unique intertidal zones to catch crabs, view corals and experience traditional rock fishing. For visitors interested in Penghu Tern Ecology, the Administration will bring you on a flight to view Asia’s biggest gathering of seabirds. At this tour, you can expect to see many different types of terns and their ecologies. It is a definite must-see for bird lovers! During the flight, you will also be treated to a bird’s eye view of Penghu’s most beautiful and ecologically-unique island- Hua Island! All of its mystery will be unveiled right before your eyes! For visitors interested in understanding Penghu’s unique intertidal zone, you will be brought to the intertidal zone between Bei Liao and Kui Bi Mountain. You will definitely feel like Moses parting and crossing the Red Sea!
