Penghu region has entered the peak travel season with frequent water recreation activities, in order to reinforce the safety maintenance of diving recreational activity and the protection of marine ecology, the Tourism Bureau, MOTC reminds that when involved in diving (snorkeling) activities, one must beware not to touch unknown marine organisms, not to damage, leave, place or wind objects onto coral reefs, as well as to obey activity safety education in order to ensure the maintenance of marine natural ecological environment.
 
Also for those involved in diving activity, the descriptions to the safety reminders are as shown below:
Those taking visitors involved in the diving activity or providing the venue and equipment to visitors involved in diving activity should obey the following matters:

1. Know that when in emergent dangerous incidents, one must also report to the fire department, the coast guard unit as well as the Penghu National Scenic Area Administration other than adopting the appropriate safety rescue measures in the first place.
2. Should provide visitors with diving equipment in good conditions without damages.
3. Should observe and understand the wave conditions, water temperature, tidal direction, flow speed, terrain and surface features in order to ensure the activity region is of safe sea area, and avoid activity in poor sea conditions, shallow water region and submerged reef area.
4. Make sure to check the buckles and connection belts of the various diving equipment and lifebuoy before visitors become involved in the diving activity, and explain in detail, demonstrate as well as promote activity safety education.
5. Do not abandon the visitors halfway through the activity, or allow visitors to separate from the group and act alone. 

Those taking visitors involved in the diving activity or providing the venue and equipment to visitors involved in diving activity should request the visitors to obey the following matters:

1. Do not dive alone.
2. Do not drink beverages containing alcohol before diving activity Those with illnesses such as heart disease, high blood pressure and epilepsy…etc. should consider beforehand whether own health conditions and physique is appropriate for taking part in the diving activity.
3. Check the validness of all equipment, and be familiar with the operational methods.
4. When involved in Scuba diving activity, it should be conducted according to the stipulated diving schedule, with the diving depth not exceeding the level and experience scope which was trained for.
5. Ensure the sea area conditions are suitable for the activity before going into the water, or have local experienced diver to explain the conditions of the diving spot. 

Penghu is surrounded by the ocean, with beautiful coast views and natural marine ecology, particularly the coral reef ecology closely related to fish habitat and the life of marine organisms; those involved in the diving activity should avoid damages and be a responsible, outstanding traveler, while also raising safety awareness at all times to maintain own safety!
