 The 2009 Penghu Fireworks Festival kicks off on May 10. To mark the sixth anniversary of the festival, the event will open will a special "Martial Divine Palanquin" ceremony to wish for good fortune. One of Penghu's top summer events, the festival will feature two fireworks displays every week (on Wednesdays and Saturdays) special evening festivities will also be planned in conjunction with the fireworks displays, respectively, at the Guanrih Recreation Area in Guoshu Village, Husi Township and the Cross-sea Bridge in Baisha Township.
